1. Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Kim Kyou-hyun, who is visiting Bolivia for the 42nd General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), met with Bolivian Vice Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Alurralde on June 4 local time. They discussed key bilateral issues, including development and industrialization cooperation.

2. The two sides, in particular, agreed to work to open a Bolivian Embassy in the ROK within this year to continue to strengthen bilateral relations.

3. Considering the potential for bilateral cooperation in development and agriculture, Vice Foreign Minister Alurralde called for the ROK government’s interest and support for Bolivia’s industrialization, as well as development cooperation.

o In response, Deputy Minister Kim explained that the Korean Project on International Agriculture (KOPIA) Center in Cochabamba, Bolivia, being operated by the ROK government, is contributing to the development of agriculture in Bolivia. Vice Foreign Minister Alurralde expressed gratitude in return.

4. Vice Foreign Minister Alurralde also promised to continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in lithium development and industrialization.
