1. Foreign Minister Song Min-soon conferred the Order of Diplomatic Service Merit, GWANG-HWA 
Medal to H.E. Mr. Alfredo Francisco Ungo, Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to the Republic of 
Korea, at the Reception Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade at 15:00 on September 19.

2. Ambassador Ungo has served in Korea for 12 years and 4 months (from June 1995 to September 2007), 
making contributions to further strengthening the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries.
His achievements include successfully arranging the ROK-El Salvador Summit on the sidelines 
of the 2nd ROK-SICA Summit in September 2005 and the state visit of President Saca to Korea in October 
2006.

3. In addition, Ambassador Ungo has been acting as the Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Korea since March 
2004, making significant contributions to the promotion of relations between our Government and the 
diplomatic corps in Korea.
